Renee and James were married on the banks of Big Bear Lake. I was second shooter on this one with my friend John Watkins. Destination weddings are so much fun. And getting out of the city brings a certain kind of inspiration that helps the photographer’s eye to see things in a fresh, new way. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to be shooting a bride like Renee whose skin the camera loved, or a groom like James whose easy-going personality made getting each shot such a breeze. This was a sweet but elegant affair with just the touch of nature that makes everyone feel good, relaxed, and ready to enjoy a celebration. Congratulations Renee and James!

“Can we have the rings please!”

For me, a job goes from good to great when the couple I’m shooting, who I may have met only once or twice before, become so comfortable and so relaxed with me on their wedding day that it feels like I’m working with old friends. That’s how shooting was for me as Beth’s and Steve’s wedding photographer. Their wedding was an exquisite event… set in a private park, delicious food, gorgeous flowers, and most importantly– a lot of really wonderful people who were clearly happy to be there and happy to embrace this couple. Work like that is just plain fun! It was my pleasure to work for the first time with Christopher Durst of Events by Christopher. And, as always, Terri Rippee, one of my all time favorite second shooters, was first-rate. The beautiful flowers were done by Flowers ~ Annette Gomez. Enjoy the photos!

I had the pleasure of photographing Shannon’s and Chris’s wedding this past weekend. They were married on Saturday, June 20 at the Escondido Country Club. It was great day, albeit a little warm. Despite the toasty, 105 degree temp, everyone had a great time. This was a spirited crowd for sure! I was fortunate to have my friend, Bronson Pate, from Bauman Photographers shooting with me. Bronson is always fun to have around and it goes without saying that his images rock. Chris and Shannon….enjoy your honeymoon and thanks for having me as your wedding photographer. I am looking forward to sharing the rest of the images with you once they’re done.

I got some help out in the garden yesterday from my son, Galen. He works hard. The only problem was that his pants soaked up the water faster than the ground did! Good times for sure.

wow. what a gorgeous couple! beautiful, emotional shots! well-done, Lowell!
